MIDLOTHIAN - Longbra-nch Elementary student Kamryn Madden isn't your typical
9-year-old.
After watching a breast cancer walk on television,Madden asked to have money
donated to organizations like Methodist Midlothian Imaging Center which helps
diagnose and treat breast cancer, instead of toys for her ninth birthday.
When asked why she decided to get into charitable causes Madden said she "just
wants to help."
Madden's mother, Kelly, said her and the family have even participated in cancer
walks themselves because of her interest in helping out.
This isn't the first time Madden has used her birthday to help fund a worthy
cause.
Last year Madden asked for money in lieu of gifts to donate to the Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
