The Ellis County Press: The clock is ticking The clock is ticking ================================================================================ Editor on 03/19/2010 15:09:00 Congressman Joe Barton, 6th District of Texas The clock is ticking and it appears we will vote on the Democrats' job-killing, tax-raising, care-rationing health bill sometime Sunday. The President and Speaker Pelosi don't have the support they need yet, but have proven over recent days that they will do just about anything to get the votes - from legislative tricks to backroom deals. This scheme to deem a bill of this size and importance passed - without a straight up or down vote - is simply an abuse of the system and possibly even unconstitutional. I will be in Washington this weekend doing absolutely everything I can to keep this bill from becoming a law. I encourage you to stay engaged. Together we can defeat this bill and then start working on true health care reform. In an effort to let you know exactly what is going on, I will be updating my _Facebook_ (Facebook.com/RepJoeBarton), _YouTube_ (YouTube.com/RepJoeBarton), and _website _(joebarton.house.gov) Saturday and Sunday - so please log on throughout the weekend for instant updates and breaking news.
