The Ellis County Press: Primary Media lawsuit continues Primary Media lawsuit continues ================================================================================ Editor on 03/18/2010 14:13:00 MEGAN GRAY _The Ellis County Press__ _ WAXAHACHIE - The illegally erected billboards by Primary Media, were once again the topic of a closed session during the Monday, March 15 council meeting. Primary Media had until March 30 to remove each of their signs upon agreement from the March 4 meeting. The billboard company proposed in lieu of appealing the case, they would take down one billboard by the deadline and pay the city $10,000 in attor-ney's fees if the city would make an exception and allow them to leave one billboard in place for 18 months. Once the 18 months is over, the sign would be taken down. "We [the city] thought this was a reasonable solution since if they appealed, both billboards would have stayed up during that time and we would have to expend more time and energy with the appeal,"said City Manager Paul Stevens. The council made a motion to accept the proposed agreement and authorized their legal counsel, Jim Chapman, to draw up the appropriate paperwork for the citys signature. All members of the council were present with the exception of John Wray.
