Ennis facility seeking clients after Kevins House closing

ENNIS - Faced with no place else to go after an all-male halfway house closed
amid controversies surrounding its director and a reported FBI investigation
into financial dealings, clients at the now-closed Kevin's House have a new
option in Ennis.
Tabitha Pennon runs Vision House in Ennis, a new project started when Kevin's
House closed two weeks ago.
She's looking for parents of clients and clients to contact her to begin
interviewing for the Vision House.
With 10 years of experience in the field of helping people adjust to society
after bouts of crime, Pennon said she hopes the get the Kevins House clients
quickly.

Kevins House director, Richard Jackson, closed down the all-male halfway house
after several current and former clients brought forth mountains of allegations
of sexual harassment and financial mismanagement, as well as accusations that
Ellis County's adult probation department participated in a cover-up.
Several clients said they were threatened with jail and prison if they pursued
the allegations further.
