Fired tech waiting on Calvert ruling

WAXAHACHIE - Fired Ellis County Sheriffs Office crime scene technician Cindy
Kelly, arrested for a driving while intoxicated charge several months ago as her
colleagues staked outside and waited for her, is now waiting for a ruling from
Ellis County Court at Law No. 2 Judge Gene Calvert to issue a ruling in the
case.
The DWI case was overshadowed by the incident report information that was leaked
after Kelly was fired for driving a county vehicle after frequenting a bar. Her
colleagues, investigators with the ECSO Criminal Investigation Division, were
parked down the street and waited for Kelly to pass by.
The dispute over whet-her Kelly was legally drunk is at issue, but Calvert
instructed the witnesses in the case not to discuss the matter with the public.
