Joe Barton (R-Arlington/Ennis) is moving his Arlington and Mansfield town hall meetings to larger venues to accommodate the expected crowds. He also announced Tuesday that he will take part in a "health care solutions" forum on August 31st in Richardson with Reps. Sam Johnson and Pete Sessions. The public is invited to both events. The Congressman decided to change the location of the Arlington and Mansfield events after more than 1,000 people showed up for town halls Monday in the small cities of Lovelady and Marquez. The Arlington town hall will now take place at the Arlington Music Hall (Home of Johnnie High's Country Music Revue), 224 North Center Street, which is just a block away from the original location of Arlington City Hall. The Mansfield town hall will now take place at the Willie Pigg Auditorium, 1520 North Walnut Creek Drive, which is about three miles from the original location of Mansfield City Hall. The start times for both meetings will remain 6 p.m. On Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m., Congressmen Barton will join Sam Johnson (3rd Dist.-Texas) and Pete Sessions (32nd Dist.-Texas) to host a congressional field hearing on healthcare solutions at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. The free event will be open to the public and the media. There will be parking but people are encouraged to take DART.
