The Ellis County Press: City changes health-care plan City changes health-care plan ================================================================================ Editor on 07/09/2009 13:04:00 The Ellis County Press WILMER - A 3-1 vote to change the City of Wilmer's health care plan for its employees was approved during last Thursdays regular scheduled council meeting. Councilwoman Tiny Lange opposed. Currently, the city was using BCBS of Texas and paid $527.49 per employee. Aetna Healthcare, is proposing only $410.05 per employee with a savings of $114.44 switching to the new plan. "I did a lot of research into this, trying to find the best fit program for the city and going with Aetna we will be saving over $50,000 annually," said Alice Holloway, city secretary.
