The City of Ferris purchases water from Rockett who increased their rates by 15.5 percent. "We buy our water from Rockett and sewage to increase another 10-percent down the line we will be eating our own costs for about six months," said Mayor Pro-Tem Bill Pardue. Rates as follows: 2-12,000 gallons Now: $3.60 New: $4.16; 2,000 to 42,000 Now: $ 4.60 New: $5.31; 42,000 and up Now: $ 5.60, New: $6.47 Base rate for residential monthly water will increase to $20 from $19. "We will not be going up officially on the bill until about another two months when we have done the necessary outreach notifying all consumers," said Pat Bradley, city secretary.
