April 9 at around 9:50 p.m., Sheriff Johnny Brown's crime scene technician,
Cindy Kelly, off duty, was arrested for DWI while driving a marked sheriff's
crime scene unit vehicle.
Kelly,a Midlothian resident, was stopped for a traffic violation while driving
the county vehicle when the deputy discovered she might be intoxicated during
the interviewing process.
Upon completing a series of tests Kelly was arrested and brought to the Wayne
McCollum Detention Center and placed on a $2,000 bond.
" I can say he is under internal investigation within the department and the
person is now on admin leave because of it," said Sheriff Brown.
The offense and personnel related matters are still pending at this time.
