The Ellis County Press: 10-year old boy in crash 10-year old boy in crash ================================================================================ Editor on 03/26/2009 17:26:00 Wednesday, March 25, around 4:30 p.m.at the intersection of Highway 287 and Highway 34 in Ennis, a 10-year-old boy and his 38-year-old mother were injured by a crow bar from the back of their Ford Ranger pickup after a vehicle rear-ended them during the storms sweeping across the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex that afternoon. The son was transported to Children's Hospital in Dallas with part of the crowbar impaled in his back and leg. The mom was was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with a deep puncture wound from the same crowbar which measures about an inch in diameter. Ennis Police Department said alert and awake on his way to Dallas and the two face no life threatening injuries. The driver who rear ended the truck will not be facing any charges.
