Closures Scheduled for I-20 at Bonnie View Road and at SH 342

DALLAS COUNTY - The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and contractor Ed
Bell Inc. will implement various temporary lane closures east and westbound on
I-20 at Bonnie View Road (mile post 472) and also at Lancaster Road (SH 342)
(mile post 470).
The closures will vary from one-lane to full closure while Ed Bell work crews
hang steel beams for the new, U-turn bridges crossing I-20 at Bonnie View Road
and Lancaster Road. The bridges are being constructed simultaneously under one
contract to minimize construction costs, traffic delays and impacts to the
community.
PARTIAL CLOSURES:
Sunday, March 15, thru Wednesday, April 1, various lanes closures will take
place each night beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. the following morning.
The closures will take place on I-20, Bonnie View Road and Lancaster Road (SH
342).
FULL CLOSURES:
Monday, March 16, 8 p.m. to Tuesday, March 17, 6 a.m.
All I-20 westbound lanes will be closed at Bonnie View Road. Traffic will be
detoured to the westbound frontage road, thru the Bonnie View Road intersection
and back onto westbound
I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Thursday, March 19, 8 p.m. to Friday, March 20, 6 a.m.
All I-20 westbound lanes will be closed at Lancaster Road (SH 342). Traffic will
be detoured to the westbound frontage road, thru the Lancaster Road intersection
and back onto westbound I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Tuesday, March 24, 8 p.m. to Wednesday, March 25, 6 a.m.
All I-20 eastbound lanes will be closed at Lancaster Road (SH 342). Traffic will
be detoured to the eastbound frontage road, thru the Lancaster Road intersection
and back onto eastbound
I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Thursday, March 26, 8 p.m. to Friday, March 27, 6 a.m.
All I-20 eastbound lanes will be closed at Bonnie View Road. Traffic will be
detoured to the eastbound frontage road, thru the Bonnie View Road intersection
and back onto eastbound
I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Sunday, March 29, 8 p.m. to Monday, March 30, 6 a.m.
All I-20 westbound lanes will be closed at Bonnie View Road. Traffic will be
detoured to the westbound frontage road, thru the Bonnie View Road intersection
and back onto westbound
I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Tuesday, March 31, 8 p.m. to Wednesday, April 1, 6 a.m.
All I-20 eastbound lanes will be closed at Bonnie View Road. Traffic will be
detoured to the eastbound frontage road, thru the Bonnie View Road intersection
and back onto eastbound
I-20. Police will be present to direct traffic.
Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone. Message
boards have been placed to inform travelers of the pending road closures.
TxDOT would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and thank area
drivers and local businesses for their continued patience and cooperation as Ed
Bell construction crews work diligently to complete this project as soon and as
safely as possible.
This $6.2 million bridge project is estimated to be complete by spring 2010.
