The Ellis County Press: Meth lab discovery nets 3 arrests Meth lab discovery nets 3 arrests ================================================================================ Editor on 02/20/2009 09:21:00 STAFF REPORT WAXAHACHIE - Two white males and a white female were arrested and charged with manufacture and/or deliver of a controlled substance, possession or transport of anhydrous ammonia in improper containers, and possession or transport of certain chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance last week. Around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 12, investigators with the Ellis County Narcotics Task Force received a complaint of a noxious chemical odor in the area of the 5300 block of E. FM 875 near Waxahachie . Investigators found the odor came from a methamphetamine production lab and were able to trace the noxious odor to a residence located in the 5300 block of E. FM 875. Task force investigators along with Ellis County Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputies found an active clandestine methamphetamine production lab. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators found a methamphetamine production process in progress. With the assistance of the Waxahachie Rural Fire Department, task force officers neutralized the production process. Investigators also found remnants of past methamphetamine production and ingredients including several containers of anhydrous ammonia which is a highly toxic and volatile chemical used in the production of methamphetamine. Also found was finished methamphetamine product. All toxic chemicals were disposed of by a hazardous chemical disposal team. The Ellis County Narcotics Task Force is made up of Police Officers from the Ellis County Sheriff's Office and the Waxahachie Police Department.
