SEAGOVILLE - Pam Godfrey, 44, of Ferris was killed in an auto accident on Monday
morning, Dec.22 when she was flung out of her vehicle and it flipped over upon
entering highway 175 and Malloy Bridge Road.
According to reports, Auto Zone had left their sprinklers on during below
freezing temperatures causing the water to run down to the street and freeze the
highway.
This same sprinkler system already was the cause of at least one other accident
in the past.
An ordinance passed by the City of Seagoville in November that requires business
owners to have freeze and moisture sensors placed on their sprinkler systems ,
gives business owners until the Dec. 31 to comply.
Godfrey, was a hard worker for several businesses that Allen Clark owns and
operates in Ferris, Wilmer and Hutchins.
Two children were also in the truck and taken to nearby Baylor Hospital in
Dallas.
Their conditions and that of Godfrey's 23-year old daughter were unknown as of
press time.
