AirCanopy merges with national wi-fi company

MIDLOTHIAN - Ellis County's popular wireless Internet service provider AirCanopy
has merged with Skybeam, a national ISP.
The change will be completed, AirCanopy said, on Jan. 1.
Customers won't see too many changes, according to a letter AirCanopy sent out
to customers last weekend.
Invoices will be changed from AirCanopy to Skybeam; customers' prices will not
change either, the letter stated.
Additional products will be provided as a result of the merger, according to
now-Skybeam general manager Phil Walsh.
Among the various new items will be Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone service and
larger bandwidth plans.
