An open records request to the City of Bardwell on April 7 has still been
unfulfilled, despite repeated attempts by the state Attorney General's office
demanding the release of public information to _The Ellis County Press_.
Filed earlier this year, state law requires governmental entities to respond
within 10 days, which Bardwell Mayor P.W. Gentry, who appointed himself city
secretary several weeks ago, has not done.
