"The March ‘07 report was a "follow up" to the same audit findings. (Basically the two audit reports were in response to the ‘03-'04 school year.) "In 2003, six pre-kindergarten students who were not coded on the "Fall Snapshot" report as limited English proficient (LEP) were erroneously reported by the district for regular attendance on the summer submission. "The six students attended our schools; however, they should not have been coded as LEP. "There was one early education student who was erroneously reported by the district for attendance with no special education instructional setting code or code of speech therapy only. "The district's records did not support a special education setting for this student. "Attendance was erroneously reported for twenty five students in the pregnancy related services program (PRS) and the pregnancy education program (PEP). "The district's records showed them enrolled in both programs and the state does not allow dual enrollment. "Upon receiving these audits, safeguards have been put into place by the district to prevent future coding input errors such as these as well as additional training for employees who are responsible for data input. "As to the Legislative Budget Board Performance Review Report, the district's board of trustees requested that the state come in and audit the district in the Fall of 2006 to recommend areas for financial and management improvement. "Since the audit was released, the district has been working on implementing all recommendations," she concluded.
