The Ellis County Press: Local Briefs Local Briefs ================================================================================ Editor on 06/05/2008 14:28:00 Ennis Recently defeated incumbent Ennis Commissioner Byron Walker, who turned himself into Ennis authorities on an alleged identity theft charge ( Cause No. 2008-0000027CR), is set to go to court in Clay County on June 10. Clay County, in northeast Texas, issued a warrant for Walker earlier in the local campaign season on allegations he used information obtained from a former business partner, who was also arrested a week before Walker's election. Walker lost his spot to former Ennis Police Chief Red Sanders on May 10. Ferris Carl Wayne Jackson was found guilty of luring a 10-year-old boy into his Ferris home, according to testimony given by Ferris Police Department Officer Darren Coslin and investigator Sam Love. FPD alleged Jackson, 53, allegedly offering the unnamed victim money in exchange for him exposing himself. The boy told his parents, who later notified authorities. Sentencing for the state jail felony was set for Tuesday at press time.
