GRAND PRARIE-  Ousted Lancaster school trustee Sheila Stanmore's husband was
recently was  involved in a police stand off May 12 at the Grand Courtyard 
apartments in Grand Prairie.
It was reported by local media William Kevin Stanmore, 46, was bipolar and had 
been off his medication for quite sometime.
While he was  not  presenting any physical harm to anyone but himself at the 
time, according to authorities, it was later reported he fired shots at some of
the officers. A SWAT team cleared the scene of any residents, according to media
reports.
Stanmore was reportedly fired and struck down by a  police sharpshooter and
taken to the Medical Center of Arlington where he was  pronounced dead upon
arrival.
Sheila Stanmore, who lost her re-election bid on May 10, refused to comment on
the situation.
The officer involved in the shooting is on paid leave until further
investigations  are made.
