Durbin, who last year admitted to videotaping employees in his Ennis dental practice, has not said publicly if he plans to run again. Prosecutors currently have an investigation in that case stemming from last summer. Though the allegations of corruption were not aimed directly at him, Holt's officers were a central focus after Det. Dave Smith was let go after allegations he used city-issued video equipment to allegedly tape his wife having sex with another man. Smith has since been hired at the Red Oak Police Department and in Holt's replacement, John Erisman won a seven-way race for the EPD marshal position.
