ENNIS - Phillip John Slovacek, a registered sex offender, has been arrested
again in connection with another alleged sexual assault.
According to reports from the Ellis County Sheriff's      Department, Slovacek,
43, from Ennis, was taken into custody on charges which included not just the
alleged sexual assault, but drug charges as well.
Local law enforcement served a search warrant at the suspect's place of
residence after a woman told them she had been assaulted by the suspect.
A search warrant was executed, citing probable cause, which yielded an
undisclosed amount of marijuana and the methamphetamine known as 'ice' at the
suspect's residence.
According to the Ellis County Sheriff's office report, Slovacek was charged with
aggravated sexual assault, possession of a controlled substance less than one
gram, possession of a controlled substance less than two ounces, unlawful
restraint and an expired operator's license.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Service,
Slovacek was previously convicted in 1995 of a sexual assault with a 24-year-old
female and was paroled.
