ENNIS - Emma Herr-era Demonreal, 49, of Ennis was charged with tampering with
government documents last week after a month-long investigation by the Ennis
Police Department found she was selling fake documentation. The Ennis police
received a tip in February and the investigation found illegal immigrants paying
about $150 for the documents allowing them to work in the United States.
The documents purchased were very good replicas, according to police, but others
were easily identified as fake to an experienced eye. During the execution of
the warrant the detectives discovered several fake identification cards which
had not yet been delivered.
Demonreal was charged with a third degree felony of tampering with government
documents and her bond was set at $5,000.
