The Ellis County Press: Chamber hosts Shop Day Chamber hosts Shop Day ================================================================================ Editor on 12/07/2006 00:00:00 MIDLOTHIAN - The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce's Beautification Committee held its second Teacher Treasure Warehouse Shop Day on Nov. 16 in conjunction with Texas Recycles Day, a statewide effort to reduce, reuse, recycle and rebuy. Teachers arrived at A Keepsake Storage at 1681 S Walnut Grove Rd. to shop for items to use in their classrooms. 'We are very proud of this program,' said Jamey Guarascio-Cosper, coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce. 'This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to partner with the schools to help teachers stock their classrooms.' The chamber has been collecting new and gently used items since hosting their first shop day this past May for use by teachers in the classrooms, according to committee chairman Paula Baucum. 'Donations of all shapes and sizes are already coming in,' stated Guarascio-Cosper. 'We have file cabinets, dry erase boards, three-ring binders, staplers, tape, notebooks, binder clips and more. We are looking forward to hosting a third shop day in May of 2007.' For more information on the Teachers Treasure Warehouse, call the Chamber at 972-723-8600 or email jamey@midlothianchamber.org.
