The Ellis County Press: Bank employees robbed Bank employees robbed ================================================================================ Editor on 11/02/2006 00:00:00 SHERRY LONG _News Editor_ RED OAK - Employees of the Wachovia Bank in the 500 block of Ovilla Road were robbed Tuesday morning as they were reporting for work about 7:30 a.m. It was unknown how much money the robber got away with, but he stole a vehicle from one of victims, which was recovered a few blocks away shortly after 8 a.m. At one point dogs had been used to hunt for the suspect who was believed to be a white male dressed in all black, according to police scanner records. All the external doors at Red Oak and Eastridge Elementary were locked and people were monitored as they came in and out of the school, Public Information Officer Bobby LaBorde said. 'They did a through search and it was determined that there was no immediate threat, so the lockdown was discontinued about 10:50 a.m,' LaBorde said. Red Oak police officials said the Dallas branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigations assumed responsibility of the investigation. No further details were available as of press time.
