Vandals kill pet, damage cars in Ovilla

OVILLA - An Ovilla family was unharmed, despite vandalism to their garage and
vehicles, theft from a vehicle and the killing of their pet dog in an incident
at their home in the early hours of Sept. 11.
The incident took place at the home of Brian and Heather Treadaway of Ovilla
while the family was at home. Brian Treadaway is the associate pastor of Ovilla
Road Baptist Church.
Ovilla Police Chief Mike Moon said someone entered the backyard of the home and
cut the throat of the pet dog.
Someone entered the unattached garage and spray-painted graffiti on the walls.
Police found the tires of the vehicles had been
cut, and the contents of the vehicles had been disturbed.
A family member's wallet was reported to be stolen from one of the vehicles.
Chief Mike Moon said the incident was under investigation and there were no
leads as of late Thursday, Sept. 11.
Rumors that the incident was part of a satanic ritual are 'total speculation,'
according to Chief Moon.
'There were no symbols left behind,' he said.
