The Ellis County Press: Suspected drug dealer arrested Suspected drug dealer arrested ================================================================================ Editor on 09/18/2003 00:00:00 SHERRY LONG The Ellis County Press PALMER - Kenneth Wood Jr., 21, was arraigned Tuesday morning, Sept. 9 after turning himself into Justice of Peace Bill Woody, Precinct No. 1, after warrants were issued for his arrest. Wood was released on a bond of $20,000, after he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Three arrest warrants were issued for the suspect after an investigation was conducted by the police department. Armed with a search warrant, Palmer police said they found methamphetamine, marijuana, packing material, weight scales containing drug residue and other drug paraphernalia in Wood's residence. Palmer Police Chief Stephen Sparks said his department wanted to make Palmer a safer place for residents and visitors by cleaning up the drug problem in the city. 'It is our desire to eliminate drug trafficking and transportation in our city and we will continue our efforts in the future to reach this goal,' Sparks said.
