WAXAHACHIE - The Ellis County Commissioners approved a ban on all outdoor
burning in a special meeting, Monday, July 21. The ban, one of the first to be
announced this year in the Metroplex, is effective immediately and will remain
in effect for 90 days, unless otherwise determined by the Court.The Texas Forest
Service determined recently drought conditions exist in Ellis County. Those
caught burning trash while the ban is in effect could be charged with a Class C
misdemeanor.
