The first annual Concert in the Park, a fundraising event for Greaham's department at Red Oak City Park, will showcase several Christian, country and rock bands this summer. Though nothing is set in stone, Greaham hopes to have the concerts on a Saturday from June through August. 'We hope to get this thing bigger every year,' she said. 'It will be a good [benefit] to the community.' Since word got out about the concerts, local bands have asked Greaham to stop by a show or two, and one band has already committed to playing. 'With all that Shauna is planning, it will definitely give Formal Method an opportunity to give their hometown friends a good show and a great possibility of increasing our fan base,' said Donelle Smith, a Palmer resident and manager of Formal Method. FM is slated to play the Red Oak show Aug. 16, and if successful, the band could get local stores to carry CDs and merchandise. 'It [Concert in the Park] should be a promising promotion for the local bands who are playing this summer,' Smith said. 'It will be a chance for the community of Red Oak to see the local talent that they have and an opportunity to support the local bands.'
