The fully functional gun, assembled by Investment Arms Inc., will be completely finished in nickel-silver and then completely overlaid in 24-karat gold. Intricately carved scenes from Ellis County's history will be carved in American Walnut, as well as stored in a French-fitted presentation case. 'Ellis County is one of 90 [Texas] counties to receive the gun,' said Joe Tuttle, sales representative of Investment Arms. 'Ten lucky Ellis County citizens will be able to receive the gun.' Tuttle said a research team of four people contacted various historical organizations within the county to obtain the necessary facts needed for the gun design. In all, workers at Investment Arms will spend nearly 130 hours crafting the gun, which will go for around $3,200. 'This is special,' Tuttle said. 'This is for the people of Ellis County. I was told the [Ellis County] Press was the paper to go to and to not even bother with the other ones.' Tuttle said he plans to showcase the gun to law enforcement agencies and county organizations. 'This is an excellent tool for fundraiser organizations,' he said. 'Once the word's out, everyone is going to want this gun.'
