Waller The Ellis County Press ENNIS - The Texas STAR Program and the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis are sponsoring the Hooray for Children Christmas Health Fair Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The festivities will be held at the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis, 1211 South Clay Street, Ennis. Free immunization will be offered to all school age children. Parents need to bring their child's shot records, or a letter from their school nurse. Doctors from Ennis Regional Medical Center and local dentists will be on-site for free medical screenings: spinal, blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose. In addition, flu shots will be available for $20 and pneumonia for $30. 'There will also be a variety of informational booths designed to help you become aware of the many health related programs, wellness services and education located in our surrounding communities,' said Sandra Poarch, director of operations for the local Boys and Girls Clubs. 'It's really going to be a great thing for the community.' Featured activities include a visit from Santa Clause and a children's parade (inside) with a surprise grand marshal, a chance to win a boy's and girl's bike, face painting, balloons, giveaways, and door prizes. Also, a child's parade will be featured at 10:30. Poarch said any child who wants to participate, should arrive before it begins. A bicycle drawing will be held at 1:30. Ennis Ford-Mercury donated boy's and girl's bicycles. More information is available at the Ennis Boys and Girl Club center, 972-878-1543.
