The Ellis County Press: Midlothian parents access students’ homework on net Midlothian parents access students’ homework on net ================================================================================ Editor on 01/25/2001 00:00:00 JIM WILLIAMS Ellis County Press MIDLOTHIAN - All is not lost now when your child leaves his or her homework assignments and materials at school. In the Midlothian Independent School District, parents will have access to their children's homework assignments and classroom announcements on the Internet at http://www.midlothian-isd.net. E-mail addresses of teachers are available. Teachers can send an e-mail with information. Then information is uploaded to the Internet automatically. Kirk Paschall, an instructor and technology director in the MISD, said grades have improved with this program and parental involvement. A parent of a Midlothian High School student said students were more likely to complete homework when parents were more aware of their assignments and tests. Paschall said he hoped to eventually have students' grades accessible to parents on the Internet. Last year, Paschall and a MISD student, Nathan Yeldell, utilized First Class Information Systems software for this program, currently available to all teachers in the MISD. Paschall said those at the high school have been using the program more.
