The Ellis County Press: Palmer sets fundraiser for officer Palmer sets fundraiser for officer ================================================================================ Editor on 10/26/2000 00:00:00 DIANA BUCKLEY Ellis County Press PALMER — City officials have announced they will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 28 to benefit Officer Armitage who was recently diagnosed with cancer. The event, featuring a fish fry, will be held at Palmer Middle School and will begin at 6 p.m. The cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children. Live music will be provided by Blue Diamond. The event will also include an auction and a 'best dessert' contest. Contestants may enter at the door. All desserts will be judged and then sold. Also at the event, a dollar will buy an opportunity to dunk individual members of the city council in whipped cream pies. Four dollars will dunk the whole council. There will be a raffle for one chance to dunk the city secretary, Margaret Rhodes.
