The Ellis County Press: New Policy: Publisher helps animals in need New Policy: Publisher helps animals in need ================================================================================ STAFF REPORT on 12/01/2011 11:15:00 FERRIS - Due to a litter of kittens dumped off at The Ellis County Press office on Thanksgiving, Publisher Charles D. Hatfield Jr. is changing the way the paper does things. “From now on, if someone needs to run a classified for a lost or found animal, we will run it free of charge,” said Hatfield at the Monday, Nov. 28 staff meeting of the ECP. “It saddens me someone would just abandon an animal like that, if they need a home I want to help them find a loving home.” The policy goes into effect immediately and is only good for legitimate people looking for homes of a lost/found pet, not to breeders selling dogs or cats. To place a classified call 972-544-2369 Monday- Friday from 9 a.m- 5 p.m. If interested in a free black and white kitten please call 469-285-9749 anytime and ask for Megan.
