The Ellis County Press: Veteran's Day Ceremony Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. Veteran's Day Ceremony Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 11/10/2011 23:47:00 DALLAS - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Texas National Cemetery Foundation (TNCF) invite the public to attend a Veterans Day ceremony at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery this Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. Ellen Zubke, commander master chief, NAS JRB Fort Worth, will give keynote remarks. The ceremony will also feature a fly over by the 457th USAFR Fighter Squadron and a cannon salute rendered by Second Battalion, 14th Marines. Other program highlights include the Mountain View College Community Band and Reflections Home School Choir who will perform patriotic musical renditions during the program. The 638-acre cemetery opened May 2000 and is located in the southwestern part of Dallas adjacent to Mountain Creek Lake. Since inception, the cemetery has conducted more than 32,000 interments of veterans and immediate dependents. More than 500,000 veterans live in North-Central Texas. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged if not able to stand long.
