The Ellis County Press: New high school to be dedicated New high school to be dedicated ================================================================================ STAFF REPORT on 10/13/2011 10:59:00 DALLAS – Dallas Independent School District will dedicate the renovated Wilmer-Hutchins High School on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Dallas ISD Board President Lew Blackburn, District 5, and other administrators will be joined by Dallas city officials such as Tennell Atkins, Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem and Mayor Artis Johnson of Hutchins in the ceremony. Students, parents, staff, alumni, and community members also will be present in the celebration. As part of the 2008 Bond Program, the school was modernized and refurbished. It is a state-of-the art school which provides students cutting-edge resources and technology. It also includes environmentally-friendly elements and construction features. Approximately 800 ninth through 12th grade students are attending Wilmer-Hutchins High School. The school opened its doors on Monday, Aug. 22, for the 2011-2012 school year and is located at 5520 Langdon Road.
