Ellis County issues  low-lying smoke haze warning

ELLIS COUNTY (Texas) - As of 10:20 Am on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, a low-lying
smoke haze in Ellis County is the result of a temperature inversion and large
fires in the vicinity of Bastrop, Texas and Tyler, Texas.
Persons with respiratory conditions should remain inside and avoid exposure to
the smoke.
Any new fires or black smoke plumes should be reported immediately by dialing
911.
Ellis County is under a Burn Ban.  No outdoor burning is permissible at this
time.  All citizens should use extreme caution due to the high fire danger that
exists under current conditions.
