The Ellis County Press: Many gather to celebrate 25th anniversary Many gather to celebrate 25th anniversary ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 06/23/2011 15:20:00 MIDLOTHIAN -  Attendees from all across the Southern Dallas County and Northern Ellis County region were on hand celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Best Southwest Partnership last Thursday, June 16 at the Midlothian Conference Center. Back when the Best Southwest was started by Roy Orr in 1986, and for several years after, the group’s main focus was promoting business and growth for the Southern Dallas County cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville and Lancaster. Now, with the re-launch of its image and recent partnerships with new member cities, the Best Southwest not only serves the four original cities from Dallas County, but the cities of Ferris, Glenn Heights, Hutchins, Midlothian, Ovilla, Red Oak and Wilmer as well. Representatives from all the area cities besides Wilmer and Ferris were present as well as District 23 Senator Royce West, District 22 Senator Brian Birdwell, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins and Ellis County Judge Carol Bush.  “Grasping on a dream and making it a reality has finally happened,” said Bush. The event, emceed by local best southwest star Greg Fields of WFAA-Channel 8, thanked everyone for coming and taking part in the celebration. Many believe Judge Bush captured it best, “collaboration is key to success.”
