The Ellis County Press: Nominations sought for 2011 'Great First Responders Awards' Nominations sought for 2011 'Great First Responders Awards' ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 04/28/2011 12:48:00 NORTH TEXAS - CareFlite and the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council are once again seeking nominations for the “Great First Responders Awards.” The prestigious awards, which will be presented at the 2011 Emergency Care Update Conference in Arlington on Monday, May 23, recognize first responders who go above and beyond in serving others on the front lines of emergency care. “Great first responders constantly sacrifice their own safety and comfort for others” said CareFlite President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Swartz. “These EMTs, firefighters and other emergency medical responders work long hours in all kinds of conditions and constantly put others’ needs before their own. They are true Texas heroes in every sense of the word.” Great First Responder honorees are selected by their peers. CareFlite and the DFWHC encourage emergency medical services, first responder agencies and others involved in emergency response to nominate first responders who demonstrate a commitment to patients, service and their fellow man.
