The Ellis County Press: Mayoral candidate has warrant out for arrest Mayoral candidate has warrant out for arrest ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 03/10/2011 13:50:00 PALMER - Mayoral candidate Joey Dauben, a blogger and local self-publisher, has a warrant out for his arrest. The city of Ferris has confirmed the warrant, a Capias Pro Fine Warrant, was issued for Dauben’s arrest Friday, Feb. 25. According to the court clerk, Dauben, 30, set up a payment program to pay a past due traffic ticket and never paid up. The warrant, is a pay or stay warrant. “A pay or stay warrant means he either pays the fine, or stays in jail,” said Clerk Loretta Johnson. When contacted for comment, Dauben said, “ Damn. I thought I took care of that one.” He believes the ticket is from Spring of last year and is contacting City Manager Eric Strong about it. Dauben is a self- described “fiscal conservative” looking to see Palmer prosper if he is elected Saturday, May 14. According to his opinion blog, The Ellis County Observer, if elected he would like to have custom made street signs for the city instead of the ones currently in place now. “We spend thousands of dollars on green and white signs in the first place. So what is it going to take to make them customized? ” stated Dauben on his blog.
