The Ellis County Press: Warrant search leads to drug bust Warrant search leads to drug bust ================================================================================ Editor on 01/19/2011 22:24:00 ENNIS - The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Special Investigation Unit and the Ennis Police Department’s S.W.A.T. team executed a narcotics search warrant at 1003 South Sherman Street Thursday, Jan. 13. According to a press release issued by the ECSO, a tip was received by the special investigations unit Ivan Adrian Gonzalez, 20, was selling cocaine and prescription drugs from the residence in Ennis prompting the investigation. The investigation culminated in the execution of a search warrant yielding approximately 13 grams of cocaine, 6.7 pounds of marijuana, 278 grams of Xanax, 25 grams of Hydrocodone and approximately $5,700 in cash stashed in the residence. Gonzalez was arrested without incident and was charged with manufacture / delivery of a controlled Substance, penalty group 1, over 4 grams; possession of marijuana over 5 pounds; manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 3, over 200 grams; and manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 3, under 28 grams. "This is another example of seamless law enforcement, the cooperation of agencies and the positive effects that result from it, " said Sheriff Johnny Brown on the arrest. Gonzalez is currently awaiting indictment and has a bonds totaling $180,000.
