The Ellis County Press: Stabbing occurred Halloween night Stabbing occurred Halloween night ================================================================================ Megan Gray on 11/04/2010 14:18:00 FERRIS – An Ellis County Sheriff Deputy responded to a stabbing on the 500 block of Newton Road Halloween night. CareFlite ground was called to the scene Sunday, Oct. 31 ,after the deputy arrived and discovered a victim with a stab wound. The 31-year-old male was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, a resident and his girlfriend were awakened in the night by dogs barking. When they looked outside, they claimed to have seen a person by a truck near the fill to the gas tank. Reportedly, the resident then called out to the suspect and the suspect then charged the resident and his girlfriend with a knife yelling he was going to kill them. A fight ensued and the suspect was stabbed. According to the complainant, the fight continued into the house where they held the suspect down until the deputies arrived. ECSO reports a container of sugar was found on the suspect and it’s believed he was going to put sugar in the gas tank. Due to the suspect/victim, in the hospital, no name has been released and the no arrests have been made. Investigation is ongoing.
