Letters to the Editor: Grammatical error caught

Last week, to my amazement and amusement, I found the glaring error in your main
story of your Oct. 20 edition. I suppose now that you have been duly reprimanded
by stating that the Ellis County sheriff, aided by Ennis police, robbed a man in
his bed.
And I wish you printed Letters to the Editor, for it would seem you have
received a few letters – if people write to editors any more – about this
grammatical error. I have encountered this sort of problem before, in our
degraded English usage of our day – sad to say. But there is such an easy way
to solve the problem of a misplaced subject, as you must know.
I am not a subscriber of your paper but I picked it off the newsstand in hopes
of finding guidance for the upcoming elections. As was true of my search within
the Daily Light here in Waxahachie, I could not find anything.
Be careful, and you’ll be more trusted.
