The Ellis County Press: Letters to the Editor: Misled Opponents to Universal Health Care Letters to the Editor: Misled Opponents to Universal Health Care ================================================================================ Editor on 02/11/2011 12:05:00 Many citizens who most need Universal Health Care have blindly joined the ranks in opposition to the current Obama Care Plan. The pharmaceutical and health care industries fear tactics and misinformation have successfully convinced the public that the current for profit health care institutions provides the best and less costly plans. As long as the health care industries are allowed to function as for profit institutions, we will continue to pay more for less and receive limited care in the United States. Our current for profit Health Care System manages every aspect of our health care to ensure their bottom line at the expense of providing meaningful medical treatments to its subscribers. Affordable health care options are limited to non-existent for most citizens in the United States. Corporate Health Care Plans that once provided 100 percent coverage have all defaulted to deductibles and patient sharing fees. Each year employees are paying more to maintain their company provided health care plan. We are reaching the point where only the rich in the United States will be able to afford good health care while the masses will go uninsured and untreated. Jack McCauley Lancaster
