Big promises

Ronald Reagan said it best in identifying the nine most terrifying words in the English language, "I’m from the government, and I’m here to help." Technically, if you break the two I’m(s) down to their base I am, you get the 11 most terrifying words, but either way, Reagan knew of what he spoke.

Now we know the Tea Party movement knows too…and a bunch of other Americans are beginning to catch on…big time. Their motto could easily be, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

The evidence for a growing distrust in those who were making the big promises (and evidently being believed) at the general elections of fourteen short months ago does not come without due justification.

Take the Obama appointment of Timothy Geithner as treasury secretary, for instance. A tax-cheat choice for guarding the henhouse eggs, if you will. Knowing the makeup of the current Democratic Party makes one wonder if there was an honest choice available…

Of course, Obama probably got a thumbs up on the appointment from VP Biden who once said paying higher taxes is patriotic, meaning for everyone, I suppose, except for those voting for or contributing to the Democratic cause. He probably wouldn’t oppose their slower thinking voters paying up, until such time they start catching on, that is.

Another Democratic entity ‘found out’ was the infamous vote gatherer, ACORN. If all their indiscretions are ever found out and brought to light, there won’t be enough prison space available, unless Gitmo is reopened. Wouldn’t that be a strange turn of events?

And how about the great global warming cover-up? I suspect a lot of those committing, or somehow in on this deceit will learn the true meaning of global warming in the by and by, if they don’t discover for themselves the one true Great Creator of heating, cooling, and everything else…

As for Obama, he himself has either been in on all of the above and more…or has had firsthand knowledge of the underhanded goings-on and apparently approves. The Washington, D.C. of today is an Obama creation, none of which is accidental.

And we’re only looking at a small part of the tip of the iceberg. Tips of icebergs don’t sink great ships but these thumbnail glimpses of the depravity and deceit making up our current national capital’s own hidden menace may just be enough to sink the great America we had hoped could be rescued.

One can only imagine what’s below the water line up there, not yet seen. It may get bizarre, with revelations of actual Earthling-UFO dialogues being revealed and released to the great unwashed public in coming months. More on that crazy-sounding issue later.

Irrespective of that, let’s hope we can begin to turn the tide and our country away from the dangers of catastrophic dangers lurking in the waters ahead.

The ballot box in 2010 and informed voting, with meaningful activism at all levels by "We the People" will be our weapons of mass construction. And…

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

May God bless.
