Construction to close Bison Meadow and Vivian Streets
The Ellis County Press
WAXAHACHIE –Two intersections off Broadhead Road, Bison Meadow and Vivian, will be temporarily closed for approximately 1-2 months beginning Wednesday, July 29. Length of time closing will depend on weather and/or availability of materials.
"Broadhead Road will remain open, this closure will mainly effect the access to Buffalo Ridge and Karsen Heights subdivisions from Broadhead Road," said Amy Hollywood, community relations manager.
All motorists must use either Alvis Street or Meagan Lane if coming from Buffalo Ridge and Karsen Heights.
"Closing these entrances is necessary because there is a difference in grade in the new road and the existing streets. This part of the project will ensure a smooth grade transition as well as proper drainage," said Hollywood.
The expansion will begin at the 287 bypass and extend east towards April Lane.
The Broadhead Road project is expected to be complete sometime this September when it will be a full, four lane concrete roadway complete with median and turning lanes.
Construction is near 75 percent completion.
