Against Ferris euthanizing animals
I understand that not everyone is an animal lover, just as not everyone loves chocolate, or baseball, or what have you.
People have different tastes.
I accept that.
But I will never understand why anyone would prefer healthy, innocent dogs to die, instead of having a chance to live.
Especially when someone else is doing the work necessary to give said dogs a chance.
And doing it in a very efficient, successful manner: a 95 percent adoption rate, for God’s sake. Most shelters in the country would be ecstatic to have such numbers.
I don’t know how Ferris was lucky enough to get someone like Misty.
I don’t know how she does such an exhausting, heart-breaking and apparently thankless job.
But I do know this: the day she leaves will be a tragic one for the animals of Ferris and for any human with even a shred of conscience.
