Outraged over police shooting dogs

I am outraged at Ferris police Chief Frank Mooney, for his memo on shooting dogs.

Ellis County has a big problem, as other counties do, with the stray dog problem, but shooting them is not the solution.

I would like to see what he has to say after the humane society hears about this.

A year ago when our elected officials of Ellis County decided to change the ruling of the county picking up stray animals, I set out to get a petition of Ellis County resident signatures to change this back and succeded.

The shooting of "feral dogs" is not the answer.

Mr. Mooney states that the dogs to be shot are only the ones that do not have collars and run in packs.

Most of us that live in the "country" do not allow our dogs to wear collars due to the fact that they can get caught on fences and hang themselves.

Neighbors will start shooting neighbor dogs.

THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION Mr. Mooney.

These poor animals are being dumped by people and they animal is not at fault here.

The person dumping the dog is.

What are you going to do about that??

The dogs are a creature of GOD and deserve better than a bullet in their head, just because of their stupid owner.

I hope that you reconsider this "memo" and show some compassion.

Do you have a dog???

What if your dog ran off for just a moment and someone shot it...how would you feel????
