Oh, hello there and Happy New Year

There are a few things we know for sure.

Death and taxes will continue unabated.

Oh, hello there and Happy New Year.

By the way, we’re back in Angel Fire, New Mexico and the snow is super abundant, more so than at any time in native memory, especially for this early in the winter season.

My assistant this week is Kenneth Allen Simmons, age 10, come Jan. 8, 2009. (Number 2 Grandson of Bryan, Texas)

No, there are additional things we can count on.

Nothing has ever taken the Good Lord by surprise and never will.

Also, He will continue to have ultimate control of ultimately everything.

The kicker making it look as if He may have made a miscalculation or two along the way has to do with His allowing us to receive that which we think we want or, more likely, that which we have sinned ourselves into and set ourselves up for.

For instance, America as a whole thought they wanted change and Obama promised them change.

Never mind his brand of change, if you don’t mind looking into history, appears to favor a change to an ever-deeper strain of socialism with the definite possibility of a dash of Muslimism thrown in for good measure.

My guess is that a majority of his supporters know little to nothing about socialism, certainly not its worse case scenario working models.

There are a number of reasons for this ignorance, number one of which centers around not being introduced to its dangers in their formal or home training.

Same thing for the truth about Muslimism’s Jihad fundamentals.

Hey, his supporters were suckers for the "change" mantra, so nothing else is required; actually not even desired.

Don’t confuse them with the facts.

If Jihad comes, it can always be blamed on Bush, Palin, or Right Wing Republicans.

Of course, liberals are suckers for left of center ism’s, communism and socialism being prime examples.

Back in the formative years of Russian Bolshevism, American liberal cells made numerous voyages over there, marveling at what they thought had been witnessed.

If chance permitted a visit with Stalin for these (suckers), it was the ultimate.

I wonder if a knowing of what Uncle Joe (as Truman referred to Joseph Stalin)) had and would do could have changed their minds about anything?

It’s doubtful.

Liberals are a strange lot.

They somehow seem to attain leadership roles far beyond their numbers and percentage of the population.

Although all of us have or have had various degrees of what the Bible describes as "last days" symptoms.

The one I think most accurately describes liberals is the verse saying a certain sort of person will be "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:7)

Read that whole chapter while you’re in there.

Why go into all this, Simmons, Obama’s the next president and there’s nothing we can do about it.

True, not about that fact, but we had better begin waking up to what may be in store for us, smelling the roses and then doing what the Boy Scouts advise; Be (get) Prepared!

Actually, the Last Days, as described in the Good Book, though appearing to trump George Orwell’s horror story "1984" by several furlongs, for those of us who’ve read the end of The Book, and believe it, things could be quite exciting…and rewarding.

The author of the book of Timothy sums up in verse 8 of chapter 4, "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing."

Believers know the Bible’s prophesies will come to pass. They will occur.

It will happen, much of it very possibly in our lifetime.

Shouldn’t we go ahead and do the Boy Scout thing and be continually watchful for His appearing.

I realize much of today’s column sounds preachy, but in tough times we should probably consider falling back on a sure thing…and most of you know Who and what that is. May God bless.
