Goodbye to The Ellis County Press!

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Your newspaper is the worst we’ve ever seen.

Your articles are negative, poorly written and usually about insignificant scandals that seem to be in your mind only.

We really don’t think Ferris, Palmer and Bardwell politics is very interesting and we’re actually relieved our sub scri ption has expired.

Needless to say, we won’t be renewing, and hope that you’ll also remove our names from your calling list that got us to subscribe to help children of our servicemen at your Camp Agape.

Does it even exist?

We are conservatives, but we’re not idiots who see conspiracies in every public office, no matter how minor.

The last straw was the stupid article about the children who were being awarded to their father who was seeing underage girls.

The photo you printed was just plain disgusting.

Is the mother related to you or something?

You constantly demonstrate in your articles that you have no understanding of how courts, grand juries, etc. even work.

Goodbye to The Ellis County Press forever!

News editor responds:

First off, the "calling list" is a phone book, so you’ll have to talk to Verizon to be removed; second, yes, Camp Agape is in fact a real place down in Fort Hood.

A portion of the new sub scri ptions our newspaper’s sales team collect are sent to the camp that helps children of fallen soldiers.

The scandals in our small towns are not just examples of judicial conspiracies (because face it, Mr. and Mrs. Pafford, if we had real judges and a real county attorney, there wouldn’t be this much corruption in this county), however "insignificant" you say they are, but they are representative of the culture that you two obviously support.

Keep putting your head in the sand and acting like nothing goes on.

You say the articles are poorly written and negative.

There have been numerous calls over our recent issue about a CPS case in which the son was awarded to her father; her father admitted to using meth and photos on MySpace – one in which we ran – showed this 23-year-old father making out with an underage girl. CPS quashed the evidence before it reached Judge Greg Wilhelm.

You claim I have "no understanding" of how the justice system works.

You’re right.

I’ve never seen a true justice system.

I don’t know where victims’ rights are protected.

So you’re correct in that I don’t know how the courts and grand juries work.

Because they sure as heck don’t work for the people being screwed over in these little towns and through these scandals.
