Charter Cable TV cancels franchise

Have you heard the latest? I got a letter from Charter yesterday indicating they will no longer service Ferris and all Charter Cable TV will cease beginning July 1.

I have searched all over the web, and there appears to be no alternative other than Dish Network or some similar company, all of which provide channels I will never watch but continually pay for.

I think the city should seek some sort of alternative for our residents, especially those that cannot afford the DirecTV rates (they are great the first year then become too expensive for me to handle or ethically endure).

I just thought this might be a story worth checking into. I think it would be nice to have at least one cable company in town without forcing residents to go with a company that does not provide the same services for the same pricing as we have become used to.

Anyway, I have a copy of the letter should you need it. I have basic cable since I refuse to buy or rent a set-top box which is what I will be forced to do now.

Of course, maybe I should just consider antenna TV. Who knows.

Let me know if you find out anything I can’t. I just want regular cable TV. Nothing fancy needed here, and the citizens of Ferris deserve at least one standard cable TV company.
