GLENN HEIGHTS - The city of Glenn Heights will be hosting its 5th annual vaccination and pet registration clinic on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Fire Department, 1938 South Hampton Road.

Citizens who had previously registered animals, can bring evidence of the valid rabies vaccination between 9 and 11:30 a.m., and be able to register their pet with the city of Glenn Heights.

Citizens will not be required to bring their spayed or neutered animals with them; the staff will only need the required documentation.

If the pet is not currently vaccinated, citizens will be able to have their animals vaccinated between 1 and 3 p.m at the Fire Bay and then will be able to register their animals with the city at the same time.

The cost of city registration, which is required annually by city ordinance, is $50 for non-sterilized animals, and $10 for sterilized animals with proof of sterilization.  City registration fees are waived for Senior Citizens, 65 years of age and older.  The cost of a rabies vaccination is $10, which will be administered by a local veterinarian.

The annual registration requirement also makes it easier for the Animal Control Department to be able to identify animals that have been impounded, to ensure that the animals are returned to their loving owners.

For more information contact Animal Control Officer Nathan Pullin at 972-223-2107 x261, or by email, animalcontrol@glennheights.com.
